The Vacancy
I’m Archie and I’m looking for new team members to support me to keep living my good life, which involves music, politics, family and enjoying my autumn years in life. I am supported to live in a flat of my own, which has adaptations to suit my needs. My wife and family live near by who I see regularly.
People who know me, describe me as an historian, intelligent, a considerate man and generous to my loved ones. Be aware, I’m also a straight-talker with a sense of humour to match! When my interests are peeked, it will be very apparent as I like to have deep and meaningful conversations.
I will listen and talk about lots of subjects but I have a particular interest in music (Beatles are the top of my list – what about yours?), classic films (and I mean, proper classics, not your "modern rubbish") and history. My family are really important to me so supporting me to keep in touch is a must.
Politics & current affairs also a passion, in my younger years, I was involved in the Scottish Political scene and this continues to be of interest to me.
What type of person am I looking for? As a match to be part of my team as Personal Development Worker, you will be patient, calm and thick skinned to take on my sense of humour ( able to take a joke and not be easily offended) you will enjoy good conversation too. I want you to know my appearance is important to me so as my team member you will support me to look my best, be able to support me with personal care- with dignity. You will be motivated to ensure I get the best out of life whilst being able to recognise when I need a bit of down time.
It’s important you know I am a wheelchair user so you will need to be comfortable supporting me with that, don’t worry, you will be provided with all the required training to keep us both safe and well.
In a nutshell, spending long periods of time together, it’s important to me that you have the ability to enjoy life, are honest and hold respectful conversations. Ideally you will be a driver too as I have a car which team members drive on my behalf.
Enough about me, over to you? Are you the ideal match? If so, Apply Now!
